Theme:  “Vintage”

I’ve been so behind the last few weeks.  Definitely taking pictures (1800 shots in the last 30 days), but just so busy I haven’t had time to keep up on Flickr or even my own website and blog.  Hopefully today I will get all caught up!    At least on my project pictures…

Been doing lots of gigs lately, which is awesome, and also working like mad at the day job (aka ‘bill paying job’).  Even spent a week in Ohio at the main office.  I took my camera that week but snapped maybe 12 frames.  Just too busy there with work to do what I love.

The theme for week 20 was ‘Vintage’, once again, I didn’t take this specifically for the theme, but I was once again able to cull an image from the week that fit the theme!  A local restaurant owner, and also one of our city councilmembers and a friend of mine, has a weekly fundraiser where a local group comes to the restaurant to work and earn tips and a percentage of the till for their charity.  This particular week, a local pirate charity, ‘The Pirates of Treasure Island’ were there.  You can read more about them here: <a href=”http://www.thepiratesoftreasureisland.com/” rel=”nofollow”>www.thepiratesoftreasureisland.com/</a>

I’ve taken quite a few shots of the pirates at local community events where they are a constant favorite, so they and the restaurant asked me to come out and take some pictures of them for promotion.

This is Cap’N Handlbr [sic]. This is obviously a massive edit that was taken outdoors.  So, the entire background has been replaced and the texture and contrast added as well.  Color desaturation to show some age as well.  This was actually taken on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant.
